The cause behind the product
Every Line of Code Serves a Purpose
Fern Solutions LLC began after our founders spent time with local conservation groups that were collecting valuable information in disconnected spreadsheets, notebooks, and inboxes. They saw volunteers working hard while residents struggled to understand where help was needed. The first project started with a listening session in a library meeting room. It became a focused Mac application for sharing restoration work with clarity.
Our mission is to make serious causes easier to see and easier to join. The application brings project locations, restoration updates, volunteer guidance, and educational material into one calm workspace. It gives coordinators a reliable view of activity without asking them to become data specialists. It gives supporters specific evidence about what their time and donations make possible. We measure success through useful actions, clearer decisions, and stronger local participation. We protect sensitive information and collect only what the work needs. We write plain interfaces because busy people should not have to decode software. We build for macOS because many partner organisations already rely on Mac teams for communications and field planning. We test with the people who will use the product in real conditions.
